UK government advisor says it is difficult to enlist IRGC as a terror group

London, IRNA – Jonathan Hall, the independent reviewer of terrorism legislation who reviews the operation of the UK’s laws on terrorism, has said it is difficult to enlist IRGC as a terror group.

Speaking to The Times, Hall said that the IRGC is a formal military body of Iran and it will be difficult to designate it.

He said that enlisting organizations as terrorist bodies would mean that they should not exist at all, but the use of this concept for state bodies would be difficult.

Hall added that it is not possible for the British government to prosecute IRGC members.

He had earlier said in a conference that the IRGC is not included in the definitions of terrorist groups as it is a part of the Iranian government.
